On May 8th, she completed the London Marathon after 16 days. She did so with the assistance of a 'bionic suit' that helps people with lower-limb paralysis walk and stand.
Lomas entered the marathon to raise money for spinal research and she did just that, raising almost $130,000.
Official rules state that she won't get a medal or have her time entered officially because the race must be completed on the same day.
However, she still gets a special trophy and 15 other runners that also completed the marathon gave her their medals as well - her victory lies entirely elsewhere though. Her triumph is that of the human spirit amidst tragedy and trial. Anyone so afflicted could have just shriveled up and cocooned oneself, unable to cope with it. Not her.
Claire Lomas is truly a remarkable example of courage, determination and humanity at its very best.

Oh yes... WE CAN!
IF SHE CAN OVERCOME HER STRIFE AND TRIBULATION,
SO CAN YOU - SO CAN EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US!
No matter what the strife can be...
JUST DO IT!
(Don't sue me, Nike - don't you dare sue...!
You're nothing more than a corporate balloon borrowing a bogus pagan bozo's name anyway...! You shouldn't even have ANY rights, whatsoever...!
But that's another story...)
