Hmm... 100 Days Without Tweeting!

Let's celebrate that too! As I just posted on the luminous blog to celebrate the true values, sense, meaning of Christmas - celebrating 100 days without a single chirp of any sort has got some merit as well --- don't you think? Sorry Tweetaholics and Twitters out there - but not tweeting has indeed been nothing but GOOD for little ol' moi here! I feel like myself again! And I certainly do not miss this: But hey - if that is your cup of tea (or, should I chirp... er, type... "if that is your kind of twit" here?) feel free to partake of it as much as you like...! After all, who's stopping you? Certainly won't be moi ...! I've got other twits to whip...! ;-)

Hmm... What's So Wonderful, Really?

One commenter wrote: "thumbs up if you're listening to this in September and you want it to be Christmas NOW!" Well, in truth, if you listen to this in September, chances are you're all messed up in your seasonal calendar...! And that is making abstraction of the oft-noted (previously, somewhere, on our very own TLB Prime Network here...!) of the obviously confusing and confused Andy Williams lyrics of the song in question here...! I mean, "scary ghost stories" are simply NOT part of the Christmas lore or tradition! COME ON, ANDY! No wonder kids today confuse Christmas with Halloween - Andy Williams' singing of "scary ghost stories" for the "most wonderful time of the year" didn't help AT ALL...! The confused and way-too-eager to sell out early retail industry doesn't either with their displays of Christmas merchandise side-by-side with the Halloween crap as early as All-Saints Day - let alone All-Souls Day...! Still, I'll...

Hmm... IPD, eh?

International Peace Day. I attend this thing, lunchtime, in a park nearby... Fine speeches - if all too mechanical... Kids - lots of kids. The local schools brought them in and prepped them for it, too. Some wrote awkward little pieces proclaiming how much they love the earth, all nations, etc... Peace is the only way - such is the consensus. The most original piece, written by a 12 year-old, imagines a formal dialogue between Mother Africa, Sister Europe, Daughter America (there should be two daughters, kid... B+ for the effort.) Politicians are au rendez-vous - why not? It costs nothing to show up for twenty minutes - and the possibilities to reap big time, come election time, are huge. The finale: some music teacher got a bunch of angelic voiced-kids and assorted volunteers of all ages to sing in a rag-tag choir. Four songs, vaguely familiar. Why four? Don't they know the Asian aversion to that number? (Not to mention all other hockey towns and teams whenever they played the f...

Hmm... Careful What You Say...

Even when you say with, hmm, flair...    It might come true indeed. That would be why there are 5, count 'em, 5 (FIVE!)  "Os" in his "WOOOOO!"

Hmm... Celebs > Cylons...?

BBC America (an oxymoron if we've ever seen one) recently had fun issuing a list of the most likely celebrities to be suspected of "Cylondom"... so to speak! For those who have no idea what the heck a Cylon could be, well, here's a quick recap: back in the late 1970s (that's right; right in the middle of the disco era) there was this TV show, the brainchild of Glen Larson, that owed a little and a lot to the Star Wars phenomenon... In it, one could see a bunch of centurion-styled foot soldiers called the Cylons, instruments of oppression for not-much-of-an-Empire at all. They were, no more and no less, than the Stormtroopers of service here - representing the oppression of an "empire" that was, in truth, quite evasive here. The good guys fled them -even though Cylons were easy pickings, almost on-par with the 1960s Invaders- onboard a ship that gave the show its title - the Battlestar Galactica . In brief, the whole series was but one long chase sequ...

Hmm... It's All About Respect, Eh?

"Don't you ever, ever disrespect Ric Flair again!" But... Who is Ric Flair, exactly, that we should respect him so very much? For the question CAN be asked...! The man is borderline senile now - to beat the man is to stay the man, he sometimes mumbles - and it is understandably so after all the hits to the head that he has taken over his, what, 40-year career now...? He has hated natural rival Hulk Hogan for the better part of the last twenty years now, and yet he is siding with him now, among those "Immortals" dudes, as HH would say... Worse still; in doing so, Flair is siding with Eric Bischoff, the guy he despised back in the best (and the worst) days of the WCW... Ric Flair seems outright disoriented here. The Ric Flair of old would have been more consistent - yet he was a backstabber who always thought of only himself (in most storylines anyways; even those enforcing "Horsemen first" group mentality) and it befit him because he is, after all, t...

Hmm... It's All About Me - Is It? No It Isn't!

Some may have thought - and they may have said it out loud as well - that these blogs of mine have been aaaaaaaaaall about my NOMBRIL (belly button in French - and a way to convey the notion of both self-centeredness as of egotism, the condition called nombrilisme by some experts of ill-repute, which is the same darn thing anyways! Why are there always at least two ways to convey, in short, the exact same idea? But I am digressing now - or straying away from the core subject of the day here! So let's just move on...) Well, in truth, NOTHING could be further from the truth! My blogs have not solely been about MOI - what, with the lambasting blog, lunacy blog and ludicrous blog alone (that's 3 out of... anyway, it's a good percentage!) I have tackled more HURLU-BERLUS than anyone dares to shake a stick at and I have done it on MY TERMS - and on my turf too, sure... I have done so tactfully, meticulously, without exposing myself to anything and without overstepping my boun...

Hmm... Gaga's An Inspiration?!?

Everybody wants to be a MONSTER now. There is even a website that helps you find the job of your dreams out there - and that website's name is MONSTER! How did monsters become so HIP, all of a sudden? Is it because the generations X, Y AND Z cannot associate the right definitions to the appropriate words, as they cannot spell, pronounce and read overall? Is it because the youngsters looooooove to give a new spin on old-fashioned words and concepts - like, all the time it would seem, making it all *their lingo* now...? Or is it because of... Lady Gaga. The weirdo so-called lady who is no lady - not meaning here that she has male genitalia at all. Although, weren't there rumors that she was a hermaphrodite some time back...? Hmm... But that is not the point right now - actually, it has no incidence whatsoever on the topic here or on anything else, at all! As a self-proclaimed "monster", Lady Gaga has influenced and, yes, inspired MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS of "freak...

Hmm... Sarcastic, Moi?

Luminous Luciano's mansuetude and all-around luminescence are renowned throughout the land - that is, where it concerns those who know him best...! Yet there are those who will pinpoint those allegedly obvious traces of sarcastic repartee in my speech patterns - and label it as hard evidence of my being bad at the bone or something...? Now, far from me any intention of ever denying that I do nuance my conversations with bits of sparkling sarcastic wit - never meant to be mean-spirited though they are, they can, indeed, be interpreted as such by the most unknowing of audiences - absolutely... I am not pretending to be an angel either, of course. Although mine is, quite so, an angelic form of sarcastic wit that never aims to hurt anyone's feelings but, rather, attempts to lighten up things a bit by creating a sense of accompliceship. To fully grasp what is going on with all that, one has to, indeed, know me a little bit better and have an overall perspective of where I am coming ...

Hmm... LL Or BB - That Is The Question!

Alliterative and holiness go hand-in-hand or so it would appear... Have you ever heard of "BB" - no, not Brigitte Bardot but rather the one, the only Betty Bowers ? Anyone? No one? Really?!? A recent five-minute short titled "Betty Bowers: America's Best Christian" should have caught your attention - it is as recent as 2008 can be to your collective mind...! (Who won the World Series again, in 2008, hmm? Who won the Super Bowl, the Grey Cup, the World Cup, Euro Cup and damnable Stanley Cup too, for that matter, hmm?!? Nobody knows - no one remembers; unless, that is, it was your most favorite of favorite teams winning, you do not remember, NO! But we are digressing right now...) So, yes - it is not all that surprising that you do not remember (or have never even heard of) Betty Bowers. Now, if she was America's Greatest Harlot - you'd remember her and know her well and recognize her from a mile away... rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrright? Right. ...

Hmm... Who Did Write That?!?

*There is no off position on the genius switch* WHO WROTE THAT?!?  Well, not David Letterman; THAT is for damn sure! Not Michelle nor Al either. Michelle can be on Letterman - but I do not remember Al ever being on, either there or on Leno! Hmm... (Not THAT Al...!) Anyhow...! The video has been set to PRIVATE - maybe someone is a little touchy about that quote or its origin, methinks, hmm? Anyhoo - try and watch it here . The quote that I mention though can only be found at the end of this HQ version right here ! Go figure why... Just try and view the thing...? And Good Luck with that! (These days, on the net, with everything being "privatized" or simply taken away due to "copyright claims" of every kind - you'll need luck to find anything, I tell ya!) ...

Hmm... There For A Mosque?

This must have been one confused little green man out there... Or, perhaps, it was something else entirely... As reported so whimsically by ITN, a UFO was seen hovering above the reverent city of Jerusalem...! Maybe the E.T.s are just vying to referee the perennial Israelo-Palestinian conflict? They don`t know what they`re getting themselves into, poor aliens!!! UFO spotted hanging over Jerusalem 2 hours 55 mins ago Buzz Up! Hmm... T-Shirt Designs, Eh?

Anything and everything can and will wind up on a T these days! (And, believe me, I am leaving out a lot of abject examples from this - you know that I am! You see them on the street as well as I do...!) T-shirts are the ultimate advertisement panel; people's torsos! They can be used to relaunch properties, advertise whatever it is that you want to advertise or simply make a quick buck off of people's nostalgia, what I call the saudades factor...! T-shirt designers, viewed in this light, are no more, no less than any other species of shark out there! Onwards to our samples, hmm: They either concoct a simple (and not-so-new nor inventive) twist on an old, very old, extremely old story, such as this perennial rivalry right here: They can also try to be clever, apparently, and in that case they try and conjure up cute phrases with elegant calligraphy helping as much as it can and here is an example of that: In the laziest attempts at making a quick buck in the fashion business, th...
